How to write a picture to describe an emotion.
He was so angry……………..BORING, BORING, BORING!
‘He picked up some crockery and threw it against the wall. Then slammed the kitchen door behind him.’ Much better….. That’s a picture of anger which is what you’re after. Practice writing a few.
‘Get out of my sight and don’t ever come back!’ he said angrily.
To say to someone ‘Get out of my sight and don’t ever come back’ is quite an expression of anger. Your reader will get it they’re not daft. You don’t need to say he said angrily. Try not to use adverbs. That’s why the bible is such compulsive reading because there are no adverbs in it.
